Chemical peel treatments can be performed relatively quickly by applying a safe and effective solution to the skin. This chemical solution improves the skin’s appearance by eliminating dead skin cells and replacing them with healthier skin cells. The damaged skin will peel off, resulting in healthy, radiant skin.
It can take up to ten days to shed the old, damaged skin and reveal the healthier skin underneath—plan for considerable flaking and shedding the first-week post-treatment. Do not pick at the shedding skin. Do not exfoliate, rub your face, or use a towel. “Helping” your skin shed can lead to scarring.
